Season 5 of FX‘s The Americans gets underway Wednesday and audiences should be prepared for even more drama in the Jennings family.
The season 5 premiere is called “Amber Waves” and picks up not long after season 4 left off. Philip (Matthew Rhys) and Elizabeth (Keri Russell) are handed their next mission by The Centre and it’s a task unlike any they’ve ever had before. Will it have them reconsidering their decision not to return to Russia?
Speaking of returning to Russia, is Oleg Burov (Costa Ronin) going to regret heading back to his home country? After all, the last character who went back to Russia didn’t survive last season (RIP Nina). And Oleg’s absence means that Stan Beeman (Noah Emmerich) is a man on an island while he continues chasing spies – still not knowing they’re living next door.
