1. Houston plays in the AFC South

There are a lot of things to like about Denver and Kansas City, but the AFC West is brutal. The pass rushers like Joey Bosa, Justin Houston, Melvin Ingram, Khalil Mack, and Von Miller all play in that division.

Add in that the Raiders have Derek Carr at quarterback and the Chargers still have a future Pro Football Hall of Famer under center in Philip Rivers and why would Romo want to limit his chances of Super Bowl contention by playing in the AFC West?

Houston plays in the weaker AFC South with the Indianapolis Colts, the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Tennessee Titans. Indianapolis hasn’t had a great track record of late in terms of front office stability. Jacksonville has been a bottom-five team in football for the last decade. Tennessee could be formidable, but the Adams Family hasn’t been the easiest owners to work with over the years.

Romo would still have to play a first-place schedule in Houston, but would get six winnable games annually in the division. Winning the division is the easiest way to make the playoffs. Going to Houston would provide theoretically the easiest path for Romo to reach the primary goal of winning a Super Bowl. Like Blake Bortles is going stop him. Come on.
