Junior forward Greg McClinton of the Wake Forest Demon Deacons hits the most insane 3-point field goal as time expired in the ACC Tournament.

Not only does the college basketball world get to see the ACC Tournament being played out in the Barclays Center, but we’ve got a crazy, ridiculous shot on our hands.

In the seconds before halftime of the game between the Virginia Tech Hokies and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, Wake Forest junior forward Greg McClinton goes full Parliament Funkadelic to drain a three-quarter court, one-handed heave.

Wake Forest was already up 41-37 before McClinton chucked that YOLO pass to the other end of the court. You only live once in the single-elimination format like the ACC Tournament. It was a perfect time for McClinton’s first three-pointer of the season.

The most underrated part of this buzzer-beating three was Wake Forest head coach Danny Manning’s reaction to it. He wanted his team to get into the

chopper

locker room and he wanted them to do it now!

Wake Forest was the No. 10 seed heading into the ACC Tournament, having to face the No. 7 Hokies on Wednesday. Perhaps Manning wanted to get his team into the locker room as fast as possible so to not be disappointed should McClinton’s shot not count?

Draining a bucket like that and running the off the court is a total power move. It would be a bit of a head game to play on Virginia Tech by just owning the shot like Wake Forest meant to do that. McClinton may not be a three-point specialist for the Demon Deacons, but he clearly made the longest shot of the season for Wake Forest basketball.
