Is The 100 new tonight, March 8?
By Roje Smith
After we witnessed the fall of Alpha Station in last week’s episode of The 100, will we be seeing the aftermath of its destruction this week?
Season 4 of The 100 so far has not been disappointing. There were a lot of questions coming into the season, especially about the approaching radiation wave. A.L.I.E.’s grim revelation to Clarke before her demise made it seem like all hope was lost. However, as proven by this season’s episodes, there are still reasons to believe that human life will continue to thrive.
One of those reasons is Luna’s Nightblood. Apparently, it’s a viable cure to combat and defeat the radiation. We saw a clear example of that as Luna recovered from her acute radiation sickness and appeared as if she never had it in the first place. Unfortunately, the other sick Grounders that she showed up to Arkadia with didn’t survive. However, it’s still a good sign for the remainder of humanity.
Another reason for hope is the discovery of Becca’s lab by Raven, Abigail and Jackson. Not only was the lab discovered, but so was the method to successfully recreate Nightblood. An unfortunate side effect of the discovery was Raven having a stroke during a zero gravity hallucination. Therefore, Abby will be monitoring her very closely. However, with the knowledge that Raven has and the discovery of a rocket that can send her into space, the Nightblood solution appears to be close.
Although examples of hope have been given, there are also examples of tribulation. The biggest example took place last week toward the end of episode 5. Hours of hard work repairing Alpha Station went up in a fiery blaze thanks to Ilian. This shocking turn of events will cause many new problems and solutions to them may be hard to find.
The biggest problem to solve will be finding a new place of salvation for everyone. Another problem is how Clarke will handle her deal with Roan. If Alpha Station no longer exists, then where will anyone from Ice Nation stay? It’s quite a dilemma and one can only guess how she’ll negotiate a new agreement.

With all of that being said, the big question is when will we see what happens next on The 100? The answer to that is “not this week.” The show is apparently taking a week off and will be re-airing the season premiere instead. Therefore, we now have one more week to develop more speculation and questions leading into the episode 6 which is called “We Will Rise.” In all honesty, the break is probably a good thing since my heart is still racing after seeing Alpha Station crumble.
Don’t forget to tune into the CW on Wednesday next week at 9:00 p.m. to witness the aftermath.
