New gameplay footage of Middle-Earth: Shadow of War
After an announcement last week, on Wednesday, new gameplay footage was revealed for Middle-Earth: Shadow of War.
Shadow of Mordor is a great game and somewhat underrated. Shadow of War was announced with a cinematic trailer and it all looked awesome. Although we didn’t see any gameplay, we didn’t have to wait to long for a reveal, which came on Wednesday.
The video is lengthy, which is great if we want to get a good idea of how the game is. We receive a ton of new information since it’s mostly a walkthrough, such as new gameplay mechanics and combat details. We see some new things, but also some familiar aspects.
For example, the Nemesis system. This is a core feature in Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War will be expanding on it even more. It’s the battle system with a unique twist, that being the enemies you encounter remember your deaths.
Check out the gameplay reveal below:
We’ll be able to forge our own stories in Shadow of War. There are many regions to conquer and each one is different. This adds some uniqueness to the gameplay since you have to approach certain objectives differently.
Next, the beasts we’ll be facing. Prior to engaging in battles with the characters, we learn a bit about their history, which is a great feature. Learning more about the story and the characters enhances the overall experience.
When talking about the gameplay, it all seems very familiar; fast-paced, action-packed, and visually pleasing. These are some of the best qualities from the previous game and it looks even better in Shadow of War.
There’s nothing like pulling off a specific combo. It’s very satisfying. We can’t wait to do that again in this game.
