NFL Rumors: Tyrod Taylor sticking with the Buffalo Bills
By John Buhler
The Buffalo Bills are reportedly going to bring back starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor in 2017, albeit on a restructured deal.
Despite strong indications the last few months that the Buffalo Bills would be going in a different direction at quarterback, it seems that the Bills came to their senses and will bring back starter Tyrod Taylor for the 2017 NFL season.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news, saying that Taylor will be back in Orchard Park for the 2017 NFL season, albeit on a restructured deal. So what does this mean for the Bills this upcoming season? This is great news for the Bills. Taylor will have this team playing roughly .500 ball at least with him at quarterback. He’ll throw for over 3,000 yards in windy Western New York and run for 500 yards on the ground.
Taylor has been surprisingly stable in his first two years with the Bills. He earned a trip to the Pro Bowl in 2015 and has had the Bills in the mix for the AFC Wild race until late December the last two years. One can argue Taylor classifies as a franchise quarterback, something the Bills haven’t had since Jim Kelly starred in Orchard Park in the 1990s.
With Taylor at quarterback, he accentuates running back LeSean McCoy’s already impressive running style. New Buffalo offensive coordinator Rick Dennison must like Taylor’s dual-threat abilities over what E.J. Manuel and Cardale Jones have to offer.

With Taylor coming back, expect the Bills to go either wideout or safety with their No. 10 overall selection. Don’t expect Buffalo to go with a quarterback with their first-round pick. None of the quarterbacks coming in will be better than Taylor in 2017. With him under center, Buffalo should again be in the mix for a wild card berth. Why was this so hard to figure out?
