The Big 12 Tournament got underway on Wednesday, and here is where we stand after the first two games

March Madness is in full swing, which of course means that it’s time for some of the bigger conference tournaments to get going. One of the major tournaments that began on Wednesday was the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City.

The 2017 Big 12 Tournament started with two games, neither of which were all that thrilling. TCU manhandled Oklahoma in their opening round contest on Wednesday, 82-63. Just one year after rolling to the Final Four, the Sooners did not last all that long in conference tournament play, and they need to do some serious regrouping before next season. On the flip side, though, Jamie Dixon was a winner in his first conference tournament game as the head coach of the Horned Frogs.

In the other game of the day on Wednesday in Kansas City, Shaka Smart and the Texas Longhorns came away with the 61-52 win over Texas Tech. This hasn’t exactly been a dream season for Texas, but they’ll take any kid of momentum they can get at this point and a win in the conference tournament will give them just that.

With the First Round games out of the way, here is a look at the updated bracket as we head for the Second Round on Thursday.

As you can see, things do not get any easier for the Horned Frogs and Longhorns, as they now have to move on to face Kansas and West Virginia, respectively, the top two seeds in the field.

But when it comes to March Madness, you never truly know what can happen. Could we be headed for a major shakeup in this bracket come Thursday night?
