DraftKings NHL Picks: March 9th Daily Top Plays
DraftKings NHL Picks: March 9th
Tonight’s slate features 10 games, with Chicago (3.2), Toronto (3.1), and Ottawa (3), holding the best projected team totals. I’ll be targeting players from these teams in cash games. Here are my DraftKings NHL picks.
NYR (-115) vs. CAR, O/U: 5.5
PHI vs. TOR (-150), O/U: 5.5
MIN (-120) vs. TB, O/U: 5.5
ANA vs. CHI (-175), O/U: 5.5
NJD (-120) vs. COL, O/U: 5
OTT (-145) vs. ARI, O/U: 5.5
MTL vs. CGY (-112), O/U: 5
NYI (-145) vs. VAN, O/U: 5
WAS vs. SJ (-110), O/U: 5
NAS vs. LA (-155), O/U: 5
DraftKings NHL Picks:
Ryan Ellis – NAS (D) – $4500/Roman Josi – NAS (D) – $6100
Nashville will be taking on the LA Kings at the Staple Center tonight. Nashville has a tough matchup and only has a projected total of 2.3 goals, but Ryan Ellis and Roman Josi may offer safety in cash games. Ryan Ellis is coming off a brief stint on the injury list, and in his first game back he was able to record five DraftKings points over the course of 23 minutes. Both Ellis and Josi accrue fantasy production through peripheral scoring and are justifiable plays in cash games. They also are receiving a slight discount considering the matchup.

Nazem Kadri – TOR (C) – $6300
Nazem Kadri will almost always make the list, given his shot volume and Toronto’s high paced offense. Toronto has seen some early reverse line movement and are in a juicy spot vs. the Flyers tonight. Kadri is averaging over 17 minutes per game and 3.46 shots on goal this month.
Kyle Palmieri – NJD (W) – $5000
Kyle Palmieri is a moderately priced volume shooter. While the Devils may not have the most potent offense, they will be taking on the Colorado Avalanche, who give up the 5th most shots on goal (32.2). Palmieri is averaging 3.17 shots per game and .42 blocks per game. The more intriguing stat, is his recent bump in playing time. New Jersey has been leaning on their top line down the stretch and Palmieri has seen full minute and a half jump from his season average, to 19.20 minutes per game this month.
Alexander Edler – VAN (D) – $3700
If you’re need a punt option to fill out your roster tonight, consider the Canucks defenseman, Alexander Edler. Edler is extremely underpriced given his average shots and blocks per game. Edler is averaging 2.08 shots and 1.69 blocks per game. Even with a difficult match-up, Edler finds a way to reach value through these peripheral stats. Edler will offer some upside, as he’ll see time on the top powerplay unit.
