Eddie Lacy rumors: Vikings, Seahawks, Packers interested
Eddie Lacy has several suitors, including the Seahawks, Packers and Vikings.
There are few running backs out there in NFL free agency more intriguing than Eddie Lacy. The former Packers running back has proven he can be a starter, but recently, he hasn’t been able to stay on the field. Lacy is drawing interest from the Seahawks, Vikings, and even his old team, according to his representatives, via NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.
He has to get his weight under control, but if he can stay on the field, he can be productive. Lacy has proven this, rushing for over 1,000 yards in each of his first two seasons with Green Bay. Over his first two seasons, he had 20 rushing touchdowns. However, over the past two seasons, Lacy has just 17 starts and 1,118 rushing yards with three touchdowns.
A second round pick in 2013, he’s getting interest from basically every team looking for a running back. Seattle is an obvious fit, as Lacy isn’t too different from Marshawn Lynch. Maybe they help revive his career just like they did for Beast Mode.
Minnesota would like to add him, especially since it appears they’re ready to move on from Adrian Peterson. And one can’t completely rule out Green Bay. Athletes tend to enjoy familiarity and Lacy is certainly familiar with the Packers. Of course, they also like money, which will be a factor.

The biggest thing about him is going to be his fitness and healthy. Retirement isn’t completely out of the question, but expect Lacy to at least try to play again. Of these teams, Seattle would make the most sense. He’d be right around their price range and solves an immediate need. Also, they have the depth necessary to limit his carries if needed.
