Jamaal Charles rumors: Seahawks have interest
Jamaal Charles will be visiting the Seattle Seahawks at the start of free agency to see if a match is there.
The Kansas City Chiefs had to make a very difficult decision by cutting running back Jamaal Charles. With other running backs stepping up, the former star became expendable to the team. However, Charles still has a lot of game left in him if he can stay healthy. According to Ian Rapoport, the free-agent running back will be visiting the Seattle Seahawks.
This is an intriguing fit for Seattle. Charles isn’t your traditional running back, especially after his multiple knee injuries. However, the Seahawks haven’t had a dynamic guy out of their backfield since Marshawn Lynch. Charles has a very different running style than Beast Mode, but he could be very successful in Seattle.
When he’s healthy, at any given moment, he’s the fastest guy on the field. In Seattle’s offense, Charles provides a receiver out of the backfield. Russell Wilson could help him put up some very impressive numbers.
Since 2008, Charles has played in five full seasons, notching over 1,000 rushing yards in each of them. However, he has also missed a large part of four seasons due to injuries. Charles has played in just eight games over the past two seasons. In his career, he has 7,260 rushing yards and 43 rushing touchdowns. In addition, Charles has 2,457 receiving yards and 20 receiving touchdowns.

Depending on his price, he would be a nice fit in Seattle. They have enough young guys where if he gets injured, it won’t be the end of the world. However, Charles could easily make a huge impact in Seattle and add an element of speed to the Seahawks offense. With his injury history though, it’s certainly a risk.
