Free agent wide receiver Terrelle Pryor will be visiting the Washington Redskins on Thursday night.

After losing both DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon to free agency, the Washington Redskins are moving forward. They must replace their two best receivers from last season and both receivers had at least 1,000 yards. The Redskins are being aggressive, as they’re hosting free agent wide receiver Terrelle Pryor on Thursday evening.

Pryor is the top remaining wide receiver. He’s a converted quarterback who thrived with the Cleveland Browns in 2016. For some odd reason, they didn’t franchise him, making him a free agent. In Pryor’s first season after making the transition, he had 77 receptions for 1,007 yards and four touchdowns. The sky’s the limit for the former Ohio State quarterback.

Washington is left with very few alternatives if they want to improve their receiver corps. Alshon Jeffery and Kenny Britt have signed with the Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns, respectively. Pryor would be a nice fit in the Redskins’ offense, so this could be a match made in heaven.

Obviously, signing him is a bit of a risk. Pryor’s obviously not the caliber of receiver Jackson and Pryor are. However, he certainly has the potential to be, especially when you consider he just switched positions. It is worth noting he’s already 27 years old. Washington also must be careful to make sure they aren’t taken advantage of. Pryor and his agent are surely aware of the Redskins’ receiver situation and also the Kirk Cousins saga.

All of this said, he would be a great fit for Washington. Pryor fills a sudden area of need of the Redskins. Also, a Josh Doctson and Pryor duo could do a lot of damage in Washington. Throw Jamison Crowder into the mix and that’s a pretty deadly group of receivers.
