Hello, and welcome to The Catch season 2. Before we get started, allow me give you a brief rundown of what happened in season 1, just in case you may have forgotten. In The Catch‘s premiere season, we met Alice Vaughn and her associates at a private investigation and security firm. Of course, they happen to be in the business that gives them all the qualifications to get into sticky and mildly shady situations. While Alice appears to be a very ethical person, her fiancee Christopher Hall (real name: Ben Jones), smooth and charming, is a con-artist. A year into their romance, he leaves her, wipes her company clean and leaves a stolen painting in her bedroom. For most of the season, she chases after him and eventually tracks him down. He realizes he would rather be with her than to continue his illegal ways.

Now, what I loved most about The Catch is that Alice found her fiancee quickly, he renounced his ways quickly, you know, *snaps fingers*, it was fast-paced. I love fast-paced shows. I’m a sucker for quick resolutions, because there’s so much television out there that prides itself on twists and will drag a storyline out far longer than they should’ve. (Yeah, How to Get Away with Murder, looking at you. I still feel exhausted.)

So here’s the synopsis for The Catch season 2 premiere, “The New Deal”:

"In the second-season opener, Ben confronts his past from behind bars. Meanwhile, Alice and her team come to terms with the blurred lines they now share with people on the wrong side of the law."

Quick prediction: Ben will be out by the end of the episode.

Also, Danny and Sophie, who started their romance in the season finale … probably won’t be a couple. I love awkward Danny, who is a smart, competent stud. But he just can’t seem to say the right thing at the right time.
