NBA FanDuel Top 5 Plays For March 10th

Wow, Conley was so disappointing last night in our NBA FanDuel picks scoring just 22.6 FDP’s. Russell Westbrook recorded his first career triple double against the San Antonio Spurs which added up to 59.1 FDP’s.  Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 18 FDP’s and helped bury my lineups completely.  The lone decent player was Alan Williams who put up 34 FDP’s, but Jusuf Nurkic scored 77 so that completely put the nail in the coffin.  Oh well, tomorrow is here and I’m ready to get back at it!  The NBA is giving us 8 games to choose from on the main slate on FanDuel.  8 games is my favorite size slate in the NBA.  I will be spending a little more today and using about 75% of that in cash games and 25% in tournaments.

Every game tonight has a total over 200 so you will have options to consider in each contest.  The highest total right now is the Houston Rockets visiting the Chicago Bulls at 223.  The Boston Celtics at the Denver Nuggets will also be high, but as of now there is no line on this game.  The Golden State Warriors at the Minnesota Timberwolves has a total of 216.5.  Two other games are over 210, the Washington Wizards at the Sacramento Kings is 213.5 and the Brooklyn Nets at the Dallas Mavericks is 212.5.  The lowest total on the board is the Toronto Raptors visiting the Atlanta Hawks at 201.  Let’s get to it and see who I’m spending up for and who I’m fading in GPP’s.

NBA FanDuel GPP Spend and Fade

Kemba Walker – $8,400

Walker comes into this game against the Orlando Magic having scored over 40 FDP’s in his last 5 games.  He usually does a tad better at home and gets a great match-up against the defense of the red-hot Elf Payton.  The Magic are near the bottom of the league against PG’s having allowed the 6th most FDP’s.  This game has Charlotte favored by 8 with a total of 206.5.  I think we see Walker continue to reach that 40 point mark in this one with upside in the 50’s.  With higher priced options like John Wall and Steph Curry, Walker could be overlooked a little and could provide the same upside at a much cheaper cost.

Isaiah Thomas – $9,200

I’m fading Thomas today in GPP’s, despite the good match-up against the Denver Nuggets.  It seems like the Celtics have been on the west coast for weeks.  They are playing their 5th game in 8 days and all 5 have been on the road out west.  Thomas has scored over 45 FPD’s just once in his last 16 games, which is what he would need to score in this one to reach 5x.  Since the return of Avery Bradley the Celtics haven’t relied on Thomas as much for scoring and it has shown in his production.  We haven’t seen his price drop low enough to match his production and I will continue to fade him until hit does.  Now let’s look at my cash game lock and GPP value.

NBA FanDuel Cash Game Lock and GPP Value

Bradley Beal – $7,600

Beal gets the call today in my cash games at shooting guard.  He has scored over 30 FDP’s in his last 8 games.  The Sacramento Kings rank near the bottom of the league giving up the 4th most FDP’s to the position.  The Wizards come into this one an 8 point favorite with the total of 213.5.  There is some concern of a blowout, but even if that happens Beal will get his points.  If this game happens to stay close, Beal could score well into the 40’s.  His price is reasonable for his recent production, and his floor should carry him to 5x tonight.

Wesley Matthews – $5,200

I’m rolling with Matthews here at a GPP value play.  I think this is as low as I will spend today.  I like that mid level today and will be going with a more balanced line-up.  Matthews has worked his way back in the rotation for the Mavericks and tonight gets the Brooklyn Nets who give up fantasy gold at every position.  They rank dead last against opposing shooting guards.  Seth Curry will likely be the more popular play, but for $1k less I get a player with the same upside.  Matthews has a chance to get back into that mid 30 range for fantasy points tonight.  With the Mavericks playing up in pace, Matthews could see one of his better performances of late.  Now onto tonight’s PayMaker.

NBA FanDuel Top PayMaker

Karl-Anthony Towns – $10,600

I’m really not comfortable paying over $10K for anyone today but Towns gets my call.  When the Timberwolves play against a higher paced team Town seems to benefit from it.  The Wolves are definitely in that situation today.  Their game against the Golden State Warriors has the Warriors favored by just 5 points with a total of 216.5.

More from FanSided

I think Towns will get some addition rebound opportunities with the pace tonight, and also could see an uptick in scoring.  I’m not sure who will be able to guard him should he decide to move out of the low post tonight and start shooting jumpers.  This game is in Minnesota, and the Warriors are playing their 7th road game out of their last 8 played.  I look for Towns to have a monster game tonight.

On this slate I think the best approach is to stay more balanced with your lineups.  I don’t think I am going to spend on anyone above Towns’ price.  I really like the match-up for James Harden, but since the addition of Lou Williams the need for Harden to be a scorer has gone down, which has limited his fantasy production.  If you stay in that range above Matthews and below Towns, you can construct some really solid lineups with upside.  Like I mentioned earlier, I think this slate is good for both cash games and GPP’s.  Good Luck tonight!
