Looking at the updated 2017 Pac-12 Tournament bracket after the quarterfinals on Thursday, March 9
Though the depth of the conference might not stack up as well with some of the other big leagues in college basketball, the top of the Pac-12 features some of the best teams in the country. Subsequently, there was palpable excitement for Thursday’s action in the Pac-12 Tournament as the top four seeds would all be on the floor and trying to make their mark.
As the No. 1 seed, the Oregon Ducks took care of business relatively easily to start the day against the Arizona State Sun Devils. Dillon Brooks led the way to the victory as they looked like the favorites they are. However, they’ll meet the one team that pulled off an upset on Thursday as the Cal Golden Bears picked up a much needed win for their tournament resume, knocking off the Utah Utes.
For the night games, things got started off with the up-and-down Arizona Wildcats at the No. 2 seed. They took care of business on Thursday, though, as they put up 92 points on the Colorado Buffaloes to pull away and advance to the semis. There, the Wildcats will meet up with the always-dangerous UCLA Bruins and Lonzo Ball. Despite the talent the Bruins have, they needed to go down to the wire to get past the USC Trojans with a two-point victory.
