Defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos and winger Ousmane Dembele both had to be subbed out on Wednesday with muscle cramps.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang made up for his terrible game in the first leg against Benfica. The Gabonese striker scored a hat-trick Wednesday. Aubameyang has scored 29 goals in 31 games across all competitions this season for Dortmund.
Hertha currently sit fifth in the Bundesliga table. In matchday 23, Hertha were stunned by potential regulation squad Hamburg. Pal Dardai’s squad will look to steal at least a point from Dortmund. Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel may elect to rest some of his players after Wednesday’s Champions League match. Tuchel will likely rest Dembele, who went down a few times in Wednesday’s game before being subbed off. Expect Tuchel to replace Dembele with German international Andre Schurrle.
Saturday’s game features two United States national team players going head to head. Hertha defender John Brooks and Dortmund playmaker Christian Pulisic. Brooks has dealt with injury problems in the first half of the season, but has improved his play in 2017. Pulisic scored in Dortmund’s win over Benfica.
