How you can watch the 2017 Big 12 Tournament final between the Iowa State Cyclones and West Virginia Mountaineers
This year’s Big 12 Tournament has been wild. Top teams like Kansas and Baylor fell early, leaving the field wide open for dark horses. It was Iowa State that emerged with the chance to steal the automatic bid from the conference elite, while West Virginia managed to make it through unscathed. Win or lose, West Virginia is probably going to hear their name called on selection Sunday. It’s Iowa State that that could use a little help.
Luckily, they appear to be surging at just the right time. Since February they’ve beaten both Kansas in Lawrence and Baylor at home. However, they did lose to West Virginia both times they met this season. Iowa State definitely has the potential to win the entire conference tourney, but they’re going to need to do something they haven’t done yet this season to do it: beat West Virginia. If they don’t do that, then they’re going to have to sweat it out Sunday.

If there’s one advantage to Iowa State it will be that they’re easily the best team West Virginia will face the entire tournament. The path they took to the final was all low seeds that pulled off big upsets in the game prior. However, this doesn’t take the favor away from the Mountaineers. They control their own destiny and have played at a high enough level to do that all season. Even if they don’t necessarily need this game doesn’t mean they’ll pass on the opportunity to relax on Sunday. A tourney win might also improve their seeding to better their chances at making a run in the tournament itself.
If this game is anything like the rest of the tournament has been then we’re in for something truly insane.
