How you can watch the 2017 Big East Tournament final between the Villanova Wildcats and Creighton Bluejays.

Villanova should be the odds on favorite to win this year’s NCAA Tournament. Nobody has repeated since Florida did it back in in the mid 2000s, but if anybody has a team that can do it, that would be Villanova. So much of their roster is filled with players that took part in last year’s epic final. They also know how close they were to it going the other way. It took a miracle game-winner to win the title last year and that’s something they’ll be playing with in their minds throughout March.

Up against Villanova is a team very familiar with game-winners. Six seeded Creighton shouldn’t be here right now. They knocked off a higher seeded Providence, and then needed the shot of the tournament from Marcus Foster to hold off a lower seeded Xavier. Their final record is good, but the resume itself isn’t the most impressive thing in the world. Reaching the conference tournament final should be enough to solidify a spot in this year’s tournament, but Creighton will certainly be looking for one more big win to get that auto bid.

Villanova will be playing in the tourney no matter what happens, but a win would mean a better chance at the No. 1 overall seed. Kansas lost early and that leaves the No. 1 overall spot wide open for the Wildcats. They’ve only lost three times this season and none of them were to Creighton. Interestingly enough, Butler beat Villanova in both matchups this year, which raises questions about what this game could have been had Butler not lost early on.

Creighton lost by double digits in both meetings with Villanova, but March is on their side and anything can happen. Never count out the low seed this time of the year.
