The Arizona Wildcats defeated the Oregon Ducks to win the 2017 Pac-12 Tournament in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

The selection committee is going to have a difficult task on Selection Sunday. The Arizona Wildcats made sure that they would make a statement before their fate in the NCAA Tournament is decided on Saturday night. After dispatching of the UCLA Bruins on Friday night, the Wildcats came ready to play against the Oregon Ducks on Saturday night, in the Pac-12 Tournament Final.

After the Ducks blew out the Wildcats earlier in the year, Arizona showed tremendous poise this time around. They used their defense to jump out to a double-digit lead and give themselves a margin for error. The Ducks would fight back and get the lead down to two, but it just wasn’t enough as the Wildcats held on.

Now, Arizona will await to find out if they’re going to be the top seed out west or if they’re going to be a No. 2 seed somewhere else in the country. The fact that the Ducks roared back showed the strength of the conference and the fact that there are multiple contenders that can win an NCAA Championship.

In the end, it came down to the top two seeds in the conference tournament and it was the Wildcats that came out on top. Sean Miller’s squad was ready to play and they are getting hot at the right time as they prepare for the NCAA Tournament.

The Pac-12 Tournament is a classic every year and the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, made this year’s event all the more special. The Bruins will have a high seed as well in the tournament and as many as six teams could make it in out of the conference.

For now though, the Wildcats are champions of the conference and will have their chance to celebrate. They’re playing as good as any other team in the country and they have what it takes to win an NCAA Championship.
