Anquan Boldin rumors: Returning for 15th season
Anquan Boldin is putting off retirement and will return for his 15th NFL season.
Anquan Boldin has quietly put up an impressive career. After his 14th NFL season, one spent with the Detroit Lions, he was considering retirement. Boldin plays hard and is very physical, which has taken a toll on his body. However, after some thought, he will be returning for his 15th season, according to Jim Trotter.
Through 14 years, Boldin has assembled a resume worthy of Hall of Fame consideration. He has 1,076 career receptions for 13,779 yards along with 82 touchdowns. Boldin has lost just two fumbles since the start of the 2010 season, which is a testament to his extremely strong hands.
Originally a quarterback in college, he was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals to be a receiver. After seven seasons with them, Boldin got traded to the Baltimore Ravens. He helped them win Super Bowl 47 as an important third down target for Joe Flacco.
Boldin has always been an underrated receiver who brings more to the table than his receiving numbers. He has a reputation for being one of the most physical receivers in the league. This carries over to Boldin’s run blocking, as he’s not afraid to lay guys out.

He proved last season that he still has something left in the tank. Boldin can stay play football at a high level as a dependable receiving option. Over half of his career catches have been for first downs and he has averaged 68.2 yards per game over his career.
While Boldin is no longer the borderline elite receiver he was with the Cardinals and Ravens, he can still help a variety of teams. He’ll likely seek a one-year deal so he can see how his body feels after this season.
