A printable 2017 CBI bracket for fans to fill out and follow at home

Most casual college basketball fans will only recognize the NCAA Tournament and NIT. That’s completely fine as they are the two most recognizable postseason tourneys with 100 of the best teams that the sport has to offer. However, it’s a shame that they might be missing be out on the great action that the 2017 CBI bracket could hold as it plays out.

The smallest of the three postseason tournaments in college basketball, the CBI only has 16 teams competing. What’s more, it stands similar to the NIT in that it’s an invitational and some teams can turn down the opportunity to play in the tournament. As a result, there aren’t a great deal of bigger schools that compete.

Even so, that doesn’t belittle the action in the slightest. These mid-major teams would love to have a win to their credit, and perhaps a trophy to put in their case. In some cases, these teams were simply punished for playing in a so-called weak conference, but are still formidable to say the least. Frankly, that’s the case with most of these teams. Therefore, you should be excited about the action that the games and tourney should offer.

While it may not hold the same clout as the other two postseason tournaments, the CBI should deliver some great action throughout the rest of March. Teams like Eastern Washington, Coastal Carolina and Green Bay all enjoyed fantastic seasons. It should be a blast watching them try to end it as the winner atop the CBI bracket.
