Anthony Davis looks to be okay after rolling his ankle. Here he is taking a DeMarcus Cousins pass for a 360 slam alley-oop against the Trail Blazers.
New Orleans Pelicans star power forward Anthony Davis may have rolled his ankle in a home game versus the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night, but thankfully the X-rays came back negative.
He looks to be doing just fine. Here is Davis taking an alley-oop pass from beyond the arc from star center DeMarcus Cousins and turning it into a 360 degree slam. Ladies and gentlemen, Boogie and The Brow…
This play was sensational. When was the last time two seven-footers pulled off an alley-oop that was this spectacular? It is a testament to the type of on-court chemistry that Cousins and Davis are rapidly building together.
While both played at the University of Kentucky for John Calipari, this is the first time they’ve been teammates. New Orleans acquired Cousins from the Sacramento Kings in a blockbuster trade All-Star weekend. The thought was to get Davis a player that could help the Pelicans push for the playoffs in the second half.
It seems that Cousins, Davis and the Pelicans will come up short of that goal this season. However, Cousins will be under contract with New Orleans for the 2017-18 NBA season. He could re-sign with New Orleans to play with Davis in the long-term. From the looks of it, they are developing quite the frontcourt rapport.
