Is Chicago Fire new tonight, March 14? We let you know if the NBC firefighting drama is airing a new episode on Wednesday and what to expect next.

Is NBC‘s Chicago Fire new tonight, March 14? That’s the question that fans have been asking since Joe Cruz and his colleagues at Firehouse 51 were last seen battling the three-hour, four-show epic Chicago Crossover.

But Chicago Fire is not airing a new episode on Tuesday, March 14. The series is preempted for the second week in a row.

Tonight at 10 p.m. NBC will be premering its highly promoted new legal comedy, Trial & Error, starring John Lithgow (Dexter, 3rd Rock From The Sun) as a professor accused of murdering his wife.

The half-hour series also includes Jayma Mays (Glee), Nicholas D’Agosto (Gotham), Sherri Shepherd (The View), Krysta Rodriguez (Smash) and Steven Boyer (a Tony Award nominee not to be confused with Stephen Moyer of True Blood fame).

NBC will air back to back episodes to fill the hour that normally belongs to Chicago Fire.

Fans of the firefighting drama will have to wait until next Tuesday to find out what happens next. Season 5, episode 18 is called “Telling Her Goodbye” and airs on March 21.

In that episode, while Firehouse 51 gets caught in the middle of a gang argument, Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) tries to build a relationship with Anna (returning guest star Charlotte Sullivan) now that she has agreed to move to Chicago.

Who’s the “her” in the title? You’ll have to keep guessing for another week. You can also find 10 Things To Do Since Chicago Fire Isn’t On Tonight courtesy of FanSided’s One Chicago Center.
