The Kansas State Wildcats face the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in the First Four of March Madness on Wednesday, March 14. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
March Madness is finally here—well, sort of. Before the First Round of the 2017 NCAA Tournament actually begins, the First Four play-in games must go down at University of Dayton Arena in Dayton Ohio. That action will start on Tuesday, March 14, featuring two of the 11-seeds and Last Four In, the Kansas State Wildcats and Wake Forest Demon Deacons, going head-to-head in the late game. The winner will move on to play No. 6 seed Cincinnati.
Kansas State under Bruce Weber finished the season at a solid 20-13 overall, sixth in the Big 12. They boast a balanced attack, but not particularly a star. Wesley Iwundu, D.J. Johnson, Barry Brown and Kamau Stokes all average double figures in scoring. In their First Four matchup, the whole lot will need to help shoulder the load for Kansas State to advance.
Meanwhile, Wake Forest shouldn’t be judged solely by finishing 10th in the ACC in the regular season. The Demon Deacs went 19-13 overall and boasted some impressive wins, including a victory over Louisville. What’s more, they played Duke competitively twice. Big man John Collins is their star as their leading scorer and averaging just under a double-double. Bryant Crawford and Keyshawn Woods may be the keys, though, as the secondary players must step up to beat Kansas State.
