The winner of this game will get the added bonus of having to play Villanova. Neither of these teams really jump off the page, but it’s nothing short of incredible that Mount Saint Mary’s ended up making the NCAA Tournament.
The team started 1-11 on the season and managed to win 18 of their final 22 games. If they want to have their shot at Villanova, they’re going to have a tall task going up against the Privateers of New Orleans.

New Orleans has the ability to score inside and use it to open up shots for the rest of the team. Mount Saint Mary’s will have to hope their defense is able to contend at the rim and get some looks going in transition the other way.
It’s the start of March Madness and the First Four is always a unique event as it features both small schools and larger ones. Who will end up punching their ticket to move on?
