The recent charges that were placed against Darrelle Revis have now been dropped.

Back in February, Revis was involved in an altercation on a street in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with some of his buddies. Revis and his friends were reportedly jumped by two men, who were then beaten unconscious by Revis’ friend, Rashawn Bolton. Testimony also implied that the two men were trying to film Revis with a cell phone, which may have sparked the altercation.

According to Aditi Kinkhabwala of NFL Network, Darrelle Revis has been cleared of all charges. The judge reportedly dismissed the case against Revis because of the nature of Bolton’s testimony.

The end of this court case is great news for Revis who can continue to look for a new match in free agency without the dark cloud of the trial hanging over his head. Revis has yet to find his perfect home in free agency, but as one of the top corners in the league, he will definitely find a buyer. The former New York Jet did have a tough year last year, but should be ready to bounce back this year and try to reclaim the title of “Best Cornerback.”

Per NBC’s ProFootballTalk, Revis said in the courthouse that he would love to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers. In his statement, he said, “That would be great. As a child I watched the Steelers play, went to a few games as a young child, I played here in high school and college, so to play here professionally would be awesome too.”

The Steelers defense is already one of the best defenses in the league and if they were to add Revis to their core they would immediately become one of the most feared teams in the league.
