Former Michigan Wolverines cornerback Jourdan Lewis has been charged with domestic violence in the weeks leading up to the 2017 NFL Draft.

The Michigan Wolverines have a ton of players entering the 2017 NFL Draft, but not many look to be highly impactful players at the next level. One guy that entered the NFL Draft with a lot of praise was cornerback Jourdan Lewis.

He had a great showing at the 2017 Reese’s Senior Bowl and did well at the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. However, it seems that his draft stock will drop after an incident that occurred in Ann Arbor on early Wednesday morning.

Lewis has been charged on one count of domestic violence by the Ann Arbor police department. The incident stems from an argument with supposedly his girlfriend who called the cops on him.

Ann Arbor Police arrived on the scene, but found no visible signs of assault on the woman. However, that doesn’t indicate that Lewis committed an act of domestic violence. He cooperated with the police away from the apartment building where this supposedly all went down via phone call. Lewis was not arrested for the incident, but a warrant has been issued for one.

Lewis had roughly a third-round grade entering the NFL Draft. The notion of domestic violence may knock him off some teams’ draft boards entirely. In a best case scenario, Lewis will have the charges dropped, but that will cost him the chance at being a day two selection.

Keep an eye on the news surrounding this domestic violence involving the former Michigan cornerback. While there is no good time for a domestic violence dispute to become pubic knowledge, doing so between the NFL Scouting Combine and the NFL Draft could not come at a worse time for Lewis as he is about to embark on his NFL career.
