Seattle Mariners and Oakland Athletics exchange jabs on Twitter
The Oakland Athletics fired a shot at the Seattle Mariners on Twitter for their new “Felix Day” video, and things heated up.
The Mariners released a promo video Wednesday afternoon, telling fans to get ready to celebrate “Felix Day” every fifth day of the week, when ace pitcher Felix Hernandez starts.
The video ends with Oakland catcher Bruce Maxwell striking out, and Seattle’s divisional rival did not let it pass without retribution. The nine-time World Series champions fired back, and a fantastic Twitter war was born:

Seattle cold-shouldered the A’s by doubling up on their strikeout gif:
Oakland, though, appreciated Mike Zunino’s balloon.

Of course, no good Twitter war is complete without some Smash Mouth references:

The jury’s out on who won this one, so it looks like they’ll have to settle it on the field.
The Mariners’ social media team is on a roll with their videos recently, also coming out with this gem earlier today.

Unfortunately, neither team’s social media game is indicative of their baseball ability, with both missing the playoffs last season.
The Mariners and Athletics can settle their dispute in a four-game series in Oakland starting April 20.
