The Tennessee Titans have made some nice moves this offseason, making sure to fill a need at the cornerback position. The Titans will pick twice in the first 18 picks in April, and while we expect them to draft a wide receiver early, they could bring in some depth at tight end at No. 18. Star tight end Delanie Walker is starting to get up there in age, and at 33-years old, you have to wonder how many big seasons are left in him.
O.J. Howard could be a nice pick at this spot, mostly due to the fact he should be a better pro than he was in college. Playing at Alabama, Howard was no where close to being a top option in the offense, as they are a very run-first oriented offense. Howard is a pass-catching tight end, who came up huge in the Crimson Tideās national title victory in 2016. Learning behind Walker early in his career would also be a big positive for Howard.
The Titans are going to be very good next season, and after barely missing out on the playoffs in 2016, they could find themselves playing in January. The organization has not made it to the playoffs since 2008, but now that they have a franchise quarterback, they could be a perennial playoff team for years to come. Howard would be a nice fit in the Titans offensive scheme, and would give the team an electric player at the position for the next five seasons at least.
