The CBS site crashed immediately before the beginning of 2017 March Madness and fans were left furious and unable to finish filling out their brackets

March Madness ready to commence, college basketball fans were left freaking out. For many, the pure excitement and anticipation of the best time of year is enough to get them amped up. However, there were apparently a great deal of people that were losing their minds because they still needed to fill out their March Madness brackets. Subsequently, they all rushed to try and get their brackets in, or at least make changes to already submitted ones. And apparently too many people tried to do so using the CBS Sports website.

As the host of the tournament on television, many people use the CBS bracket to make their picks for March Madness. That makes sense as they see it advertised throughout Selection Sunday and so on. However, you’d think that the network and website would be prepared for that. Alas, they were not.

On Thursday about an hour before the first game in the First Round tipped off—and before brackets were locked, the CBS site crashed. And when it crashed, it did so with authority. It was down for the remainder of the time leading up to the start of the tournament.

Naturally, the Internet was furious at this. Some were left unable to submit a bracket at all, while other couldn’t make any tinkering changes. Naturally, they voiced their concerns on Twitter:

While CBS Sports deserves plenty of criticism for not having their website prepared for one of the most popular events in sports, let this also be a lesson to fans. Don’t procrastinate and get those picks in early. If you do, you might end up with a day like today and have no March Madness bracket at all.
