The 2017 NCAA Tournament is finally here after months of build and anticipation. It’s one of the most entertaining parts of the sports calendar and delivers excitement nearly every year. One of the games that will be part of this is Florida State vs. Florida Gulf Coast in a West Region showdown.
Florida State is coming off a successful season in the ACC. They finished in second place at 12-6, two behind North Carolina. Notre Dame also knocked them out in the ACC Tournament.
The Seminoles are a No. 3 seed in this game. It’s a good spot, but certainly no guarantee for advancement with a No. 14 seed having won in each of the past four NCAA Tournaments. Florida Gulf Coast will be looking to relive their magic from 2013 too, although with a different coaching staff and players.

Dwayne Bacon is the leading scorer for FSU with 16.9 points per game. Him, Isaac Hayes and Xavier Rathan-Mayes will be looked upon as the main contributors for Thursday night’s game.
As for Florida Gulf Coast, they’ll look to make their mark on the tournament as underdogs. They finished the season at 26-7 and in first place in the A-Sun Conference. Will they be able to pull off another surprising upset?
