Baylor’s Jo Lual-Acuil Jr. made his presence felt in the first half on the defensive end for Baylor against New Mexico State

The Baylor Bears had another good college basketball season in 2016-17, which was good enough to earn them a No. 3 seed in the 2017 NCAA Tournament. On Friday, they’re beginning their march toward what they hope will be a trip to the Final Four, and they’re starting it out against the New Mexico State Aggies.

And they’re also starting off the NCAA Tournament by showing off some flash on the defensive end of the floor, especially Jo Lual-Acuil Jr.

Baylor is actually in a tight one with the Aggies at the half, as they’re down by two. But in the first half of this one, Acuil showed that he’s ready to bring it on the defensive end of the floor.

Watch as, in the first half, Acuil hustles down the other end of the floor to get the massive block.

Some look for offense when it comes to this Baylor basketball team, but they can bring it on the defensive end of the floor as well. There is no better evidence of that than with this block from Acuil.

However, as mentioned previously, the No. 3 seed Bears are not in a great way early on Friday. As of right now, their chances of moving on to the Second Round are not looking all that promising, so they’ll need some more efforts like the one above when they take the floor for the second half.

This was a really great highlight for March Madness — but Baylor would surely like to have some more of these as the month rolls along. They have to, you know, win for that to happen.
