Jason Pierre-Paul clowns media with tweets
The New York Giants and defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul reportedly came to terms on a four-year deal, but the man himself says that’s a bunch of bunk.
If you are a Giants fan, you woke up and heard some good news. According to multiple reports, your team and Jason Pierre-Paul had moved from the franchise tag to a long-term deal, giving both sides a sense of security.
It was a time to breathe deep. That time ended quickly, though, when Pierre-Paul took to Twitter and mocked the New York media (although it was a combo of the local and national media firing out the reports).
At this juncture, it appears Pierre-Paul remains on the franchise tag for the Giants. In that position, New York is strapped for cash. According to Over The Cap, Big Blue has roughly $3.2 million in cap space, the lowest amount in the NFL.

The Giants are likely done with their free-agent spending, although the draft class will bring another million or two against that cap number. If New York is goiong to climb over the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East this year, it might need a few extra million – which would be created with a long-term deal.
