Jayson Tatum showed why indeed he is one of the best players in the country with this block against Troy

The Duke Blue Devils are looking to make yet another run through yet another NCAA Tournament, and this season one of the main reasons for their positive season was freshman Jayson Tatum. Time after time this season Tatum has proven that he is one of the best players in the nation and maybe one of the future stars of the NBA, and on Friday night he showed his versatility yet again.

Duke is opening their 2017 Tournament run with a matchup against Troy, and it appears that they’re on their way to advancing to the Second Round barring a major Troy comeback. The Blue Devils went into the half with a big lead, and Tatum made one of the plays of the game right before the buzzer.

While people might look to Tatum for what he can do on the offensive end of the floor, it was actually at the defensive end where he did the impressing. He did so with this massive block on a charging Troy player at the rim.

That was just mean. Troy, whose chances to win this game aren’t that great to begin with, was trying to get themselves a little momentum heading into the half. But, Tatum was having none of it and crushed their hopes and dreams right there.

This defensive effort is yet another showcase of the versatility that Tatum possesses, which could go a long way when it comes to his NBA Draft status later this year.
