Like clockwork, the Kentucky Wildcats are again one of the favorites entering the NCAA Tournament. John Calipari may have one of his most complete groups of stud freshman to date and they have high expectations. They’ll look to get off to a hot start to set the tone. The Wildcats will have that chance on Friday, March 17 as they take on the Northern Kentucky Norse at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in First Round action.
Kentucky can beat you in so many different ways with the roster they have this season. Bam Adebayo can overpower opponents on the interior. However, the likes of Malik Monk, De’Aaron Fox and “veteran” Isaiah Briscoe can all tear it up from outside. They’re lethal, streaky and exceptionally dangerous for any opponent set before them.
The Norse on the other hand are taking part in March Madness in their first year of eligibility. While they will certainly have the adrenaline pumping, they need more than that against Kentucky. Putting themselves on the map with a huge upset would be wonderful, but they’ll likely just be trying to keep their dignity.
