Oklahoma State is getting flashy in their contest against Michigan, a contest that could go either way.

Oklahoma State is putting on a highlight reel for basketball fans right now in their game against Michigan. They’ve been consistently strong for the entire game and even led the majority of the first half. If only there was a sub category for putting out the most highlights. If that was the case then Oklahoma State would be well on their way to winning this one in a landslide.

Late in the first half Oklahoma State was running a half court set when one of their off ball guys found an open lane back door. Once he saw that it was as simple as letting the ball handler draw in the defense and running around them. Easy buckets on the way to a monster alley-oop finish that Michigan, or any of their fans, won’t forget any time soon. Although they probably wish they could.

This is just a gorgeous set ran by the Cowboys. The ball handler has the entire defense looking his way and there’s only two guys left to defend weakside. So they bring up his man to set a screen and when he doesn’t drop back it leaves Oklahoma State’s man running off the screen the open lane to the rim. Now a lot of passers would go the easier route and throw a lob pass while hoping for a layup. This delay usually gives defenses time to recover, but the Cowboys went for flash instead and we’re extremely thankful for that.

Despite this, Oklahoma State finds itself down at the half. They’re leading in highlights though so maybe it would be best for the tournament if they’re the ones that advance to the next round. They might not be the popular bracket pick, but they would win the hearts of everybody with the sheer volume of highlights they’re trying to put out.
