Texas Southern might not have a lot of highlights against North Carolina on Friday but this is certainly one for the books
There are many people who expect the North Carolina Tar Heels to come away with the national title when all is said and done in March Madness. They start their quest for that title on Friday with a matchup against Texas Southern.
Now, of course, there aren’t a lot of people who expect Texas Southern to even keep it close with North Carolina, much less come out of this game with one of the biggest wins in March history. With that being the case, the highlights for the Tigers in this one may be few and far between.

They did get one of these highlights early on in the game, though, and it was certainly one to remember from this opening weekend. Off the lob, Texas Southern big man Marvin Jones threw down a powerful dunk that had everyone in amazement.
This entire game may not end all that well for Jones and the Tigers, but this highlight will be one shown on the highlight reels for the school for years to come.
This is part of the beauty of March Madness, though. Coming into the season, Jones could only have dreamed about throwing down a monster dunk against North Carolina in the NCAA Tournament. Yet, here he was, taking that lob and dunking all over one of the most storied programs in the history of college basketball.
Whatever the final score of this one does end up being, Jones will always have that to carry with him for the rest of his life.
