Here’s how to watch Saturday’s NCAA Tournament game between Arizona and Saint Mary’s online.
Saturday gives us one of the most interesting clashes of the young NCAA tournament. Saint Mary’s and Arizona meet in Salt Lake City to decide who goes to the Sweet 16.
Arizona, given the ‘benefit’ of being in the bracket that has Gonzaga as a 1-seed, has been garnering quite a bit of Final Four buzz. It’s certainly not unwarranted. Sean Miller has put together yet another strong squad, and one that’s been growing together since Allonzo Trier was granted eligibility to play this year. They’ve got an excellent offense and defense, and their worst loss on the year is Butler. Loaded with future NBA draft picks – especially sweet-shooting 7-footer Lauri Markkanen – Arizona is one of the most intriguing squads in the tournament.

But they’re running up against a squad that, per KenPom’s adjusted efficiency numbers, is better than them. Though Saint Mary’s was awarded a 7-seed by the Selection Committee, they sit as the 14th best team in KenPom’s adjusted efficiency margin. There’s certainly an argument to be made that their ugly schedule (140th strongest per KenPom) helps contribute to these margins. But three of their four losses this year came against Gonzaga, and the Pac-12 was certainly not great this year outside of the top 3.

Saint Mary’s is led on offense by Jock Landale, a big man who finished 2nd on KenPom’s player of the year list. He is an excellent interior player, posting huge usage numbers while maintaining incredible offensive efficiency. He’s also the primary interior presence for the Gaels, pulling down rebounds on both ends and blocking shots as the rim protector. Containing him will be key for Arizona if they want to advance.
