The University of Denver is the number one seed in the Midwest. Led by sensational freshman forward Henrik Borgstrom, who has 38 points in 33 games, the Pioneers are an exciting team to watch.

Minnesota lives up to its legacy of the state of hockey, as they’ll have two number one seeds in the tournament. The University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs are led by senior forward Alex Iafallo, who has 18 goals and 45 points in 38 games. He’ll be a sought after player by NHL teams as a free agent. Joseph Anderson, a third round pick of the New Jersey Devils in the 2016 draft, is another player to watch for them. Also, keep an eye on Dallas Stars first round pick Riley Tufte.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Golden Gophers will be led by junior forward Tyler Sheehy. He has 20 goals and 33 assists for 53 points this season. Nashville Predators’ third round pick Rem Pitlick has been an unsung hero for them. 2012 seventh round pick Jake Bischoff has been flirting with point per game territory on the blue line.
