Duke got upset by South Carolina in the 2017 NCAA Men’s Tournament. Twitter had some fun roasting them.

Whenever a team loses, especially if it’s an upset, Twitter is savage. Lots of meme posting and trolling occurs. It gets very fun if a lot of people hate the team which just lost. Such was the case as the South Carolina Gamecocks pulled off an upset over everyone’s favorite team to hate, the Duke Blue Devils. The seventh seed Gamecocks will advance to the Sweet 16 while Duke will have to go home after being considered by many a favorite to win another national title.

The Blue Devils weren’t able to pull away from the Gamecocks in the first half despite being the better team. This wound up biting them in the butt in the end, as South Carolina dominated the entire second half. It’s rare to see the blue Devils play without poise, but they simply got outplayed and outclassed by their opponent.

For many people, this means their bracket is just about dead. A lot of frustration on Twitter got let go as the Blue Devils got roasted. Lesson learned: don’t piss off a bunch of people online. Twitter can be cold and relentless, especially if you just killed everyone’s bracket. Or maybe everyone just loves to watch Duke lose. Whatever the reason, the Blue Devils got roasted savagely. After their performance, maybe they deserve it.
