Apparently some NFL teams are afraid of a Donald Trump backlash should they sign Colin Kaepernick in free agency because that’s totally logical.
Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report had a feature publish on Friday, Mar. 17 about free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick. In 2016, Kaepernick decided to make political statements by protesting the playing of the national anthem. He became the center of the NFL universe in early September for his social commentary.
Freeman spoke with one AFC general manager about why Kaepernick remains unsigned after his contract with the San Francisco 49ers expired a few weeks ago. The anonymous AFC general manager listed three reasons why Kaepernick remains unsigned, the second of which involves the backlash of fanbases and President Donald Trump tweeting about the team that signs him.
Well, Trump read Freeman’s article and had something to say about it to the great people of Louisville, Kentucky. TMZ had the video of Trump’s response to the whole notion that he is keeping Kaepernick off an NFL roster.
Trump didn’t really take credit for keeping Kaepernick out of the league, but did say that he would let people of Kentucky know about it because Louisville likes to stand for the national anthem.
Let’s be real. If a team is afraid of a Trump tweet about signing Kaepernick, then the team doesn’t understand why Kaepernick remains a free agent. He’s not a franchise quarterback, nor is he even a competent backup.
Since taking the NFL over by storm in 2012, Kaepernick has never been able to grasp the simplest concepts of a route progression. When he is under center, he is mostly ad-libbing by scrambling for his life to throw rockets at receivers that aren’t open.

If a general manager thinks Trump is keeping Kaepernick out of the league, he is sorely mistaken. Kaepernick’s inability to play quarterback at a high level is keeping Kaepernick out of the league.
