Even after adding some huge pieces to their roster in free agency, the Jacksonville Jaguars have a lot of work to do this offseason. Here’s a seven-round mock draft for them.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been stuck in mediocrity for a majority of their existence. They finished in last place in the AFC South during the 2016 season and they have a lot of questions to answer. Even after making two huge splashes in free agency, signing Barry Church, A.J. Bouye and Calais Campbell, the Jaguars have some huge holes to fill. Not only that, Jacksonville might not even have the franchise quarterback they hoped the had, as Blake Bortles trended downwards in 2016.

A strong 2017 NFL Draft is required for the Jaguars. If they can solve some of their issues, maybe there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. However, if they don’t, that light at the end of the tunnel might be a train speeding towards them. The Jaguars have seven picks to play with in the 2017 NFL Draft. Here’s a seven-round mock draft that helps Jacksonville get out of the tunnel.

Solomon Thomas

Defensive End, Stanford

Give props to the Jaguars for addressing their offensive line and secondary in free agency and trades. The benefit of doing this? Jacksonville only has one huge area of need and it’s at guard. This isn’t a guard-heavy draft, so they can truly take the best player available at number four. It’s hard to tell who it will be, but if Solomon Thomas is available, the Jaguars should pounce on him.

He could emerge from this draft as the best pass rushing defensive lineman, especially if Myles Garrett makes the transition to outside linebacker. Thomas, however, can make an impact in other ways than the pass rush. He’s an athletic end who disrupts things in the backfield and chase guys down. The Jaguars are quietly building a solid defensive line and Thomas could be a key piece to it.
