In Washington’s Second Round victory in the 2017 NCAA Women’s Tournament, Kelsey Plum made history by passing the record single-season scoring mark

Washington Huskies senior Kelsey Plum has been the most dominant individual performer in college basketball this season—men’s or women’s. And really, she’s been putting forth that type of individual effort for quite some time. Evidence of that can be found in the Huskies’ final game of the regular season when she broke the career scoring record set by Jackie Stiles out of Missouri State.

With Washington playing in the Second Round of the 2017 NCAA Women’s Tournament on Monday night, however, Plum was able to pass another mark set by Stiles. More importantly, she was able to do so to keep here team alive in the Big Dance.

Finishing the win over the Oklahoma Sooners with 38 points and 11 assists (her first double-double, shockingly enough), Plum set the NCAA women’s single-season scoring record on Monday night in the third quarter when a layup pushed her past Stiles’ 2004 mark of 1,062 points. Here’s a look at the record-breaking bucket to etch her name once again in the history books of college basketball (h/t Sports Illustrated):

Frankly, the most shocking part about this might be the fact that this was her first double-double of her career. The fact that she put up 38 points is almost expected at this point, especially in the tourney when the pressure is amped up and the stakes are higher.

The even better news for Plum is that she’ll be able to add to the record further. Her efforts on Monday pushed the Huskies past Oklahoma and into the Sweet 16. They’ll face the No. 2 seed in their region, Mississippi State. If there’s one advantage Washington has in that matchup, though, it’s most definitely that Plum plays for the Huskies and not the Bulldogs.
