Updated 2017 NCAA Women’s Tournament Bracket: Sweet 16 set
An updated 2017 NCAA Women’s Tournament bracket with the Sweet 16 set, including favorite UConn and cinderella Quinnipiac
Plenty of jokes were made ahead of the 2017 NCAA Women’s Tournament regarding Geno Auriema’s UConn Huskies. It quickly became played out for people to post their “filled out” NCAA Women’s Tournament bracket with nothing filled out but the UConn women winning the National Championship.
That’s the likely scenario, but after the first two rounds of action, it’s clear that it won’t be a cake-walk for the Huskies. For one, the other No. 1 seeds in the tournament have also advanced to the Sweet 16. The Baylor Bears, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and South Carolina Gamecocks will all hope to be the ones to bring down the giant that is UConn.
As far as possible dark horses go, you don’t need to look any further than the Washington Huskies. Kelsey Plum is the biggest star in women’s college hoops, breaking the NCAA single-season scoring record with a win in the Round of 32. With a player like that, you can never count them out.

While all four No. 1 seeds have survived, there are still two cinderellas making their way through the NCAA Women’s Tournament bracket. First would be the No. 10 Oregon Ducks, who knocked off Duke in the Second Round. Meanwhile, 12-seed Quinnipiac first toppled Marquette before ousting Miami.
Following the first round of games from Friday to Monday, the Sweet 16 is now set. Let’s take a look at the 2017 NCAA Women’s Tournament bracket to see the matchups and what could coming in the future:

Despite Quinnipiac and Oregon coming into the Sweet 16 as double-digit seeds, there is still one story that needs to be followed. Will anyone be able to take down the vaunted UConn Huskies? As of right now, it’s hard to say that’ll be the case. They’re rolling and adding to their 100+ game winning streak, so stopping the juggernaut will be a tall task.
