Forrest Lamp

OL, Western Kentucky

The Miami Dolphins are an organization moving in the right direction, and they finally have the right head coach in place. Adam Gase did an incredible job in his first season with the team, leading the Fins to a surprising wild card berth. A late season injury to quarterback Ryan Tannehill hurt any chance they had to advance past the first round, but that should definitely be the goal heading into next season.

Tannehill had a nice season for the Dolphins, who seem content on him being the franchise quarterback for the foreseeable future. Miami also saw the berth of a legitimate star at running back, as Jay Ajayi exceeded everyone’s expectations last year. Miami needs to add pieces to their offensive line, and they should be able to get Western Kentucky’s Forrest Lamp with the No. 22 pick in the first round.

Lamp showed during the NFL Scouting Combine that he belongs in the first round, and he would be an instant starter in the NFL. He is going to be the best guard in this draft, and would fit nice on a Miami offensive line that needs help in the worst way. The AFC East is a tough division, but the Dolphins proved they can play with anybody during their impressive run during the second half of the season. Now they need to draft a player to protect their biggest assets.
