FBI returns Tom Brady’s stolen Super Bowl jerseys to Patriots (Photo)
The FBI officially returned Tom Brady’s stolen Super Bowl jerseys to the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium on Thursday.
Ever since Tom Brady led a heroic comeback in the final quarter and overtime of Super Bowl 51, the greatest mystery has been what happened to his jersey. Just as it was after Super Bowl XLIX, Brady once again had his jersey taken after the big win. However, the jerseys were found this week after they were taken by an international media member.
With the game memorabilia recovered by the FBI, they decided to present his last two Super Bowl jerseys to New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft at Gillette Stadium on Thursday. They posed for a picture with the team’s five Lombardi Trophies while holding up the jerseys.
Considering Brady won his fourth and fifth Super Bowl in those jerseys, they’re pieces of memorabilia that are Hall of Fame worthy. They might be jerseys but they’re worth a ton of money considering the legacy behind each one.
What’s amazing is that through the madness of everyone at the Super Bowl, they were able to finally locate who went in and out of the locker room with his jerseys. It’s also fortunate that the same person had his jersey from the Patriots’ victory over the Seattle Seahawks as well.
With a grand gesture of returning the jerseys, it was only fitting that everyone ended up posing for a photo afterward. The only thing the Patriots have left to do is update their podium with the “Super Bowl LI” on it.
