Watch all of Devin Booker’s 70 points vs Celtics
Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker had the game of his young career with 70 points against the Boston Celtics on Friday night.
For every star in the NBA, there is that one game that stands out early in their career. However, it’s very rare when they potentially set a career game so young. At just the age of 20 Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker dropped a historic 70 points against the Boston Celtics on Friday night.
It’s hard to imagine he reached the feat, considering he had 19 at the half. It’s amazing that even 19 points at a half seems small, yet that’s how great Booker’s night was. Through three quarters, he had 42 points and a career high in hand.
Then in the fourth quarter, he played out of his mind and dropped another 28 points. He even had an impressive three-point field goal from near half-court called back afterward. Nonetheless, he was able to hit two free throws to seal the deal and become the seventh player in NBA history to have a 70-point game. All the highlights are below.
What’s impressive is that the Celtics knew the ball was going to him in the final quarter and he still managed to get his points. He didn’t just shoot three’s either. He was very aggressive at getting to the hoop and earned some free throws.
With a night so special and the Celtics having never given up that many points to another player, the crowd in attendance cheered the performance. They went crazy every time he hit a big shot near the end of the game.
