The saga between Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook is so huge, it was referenced in a new Kendrick Lamar track.
The “Kevin Durant-vs-Russell Westbrook” saga has now made it into a Kendrick Lamar track.
How grand.
According to AJ Neuharth-Keusch of USA Today, Lamar set the internet and basketball world on fire when he dropped “The Heart Part 4.” He had a lot to say on this unexpected release, mostly about President Donald Trump; but, there was a verse in there that specifically referenced the Durant/Westbrook feud, which went like this:
"“Tables turned, lessons learned, my best lookYou jumped sides on me, now you ’bout to meet WestbrookGo celebrate with your team and let victory vouch youJust know the next game played, I might slap the (expletive) out youTechnical foul, I’m flagrant, I’m foulThey throwin’ me out, you throw iun the towel”"
I guess it’s safe to say that Lamar isn’t a fan of Durant.
To be honest, how Durant did Westbrook was kind of dirty. They had a solid team in Oklahoma City, one that was matched up well with the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals last year.
But, instead of staying the course and building on what they had, Durant decided to join the team that beat them and leave Westbrook behind in Oklahoma City. As stories began to leak, it seemed like Durant and Westbrook had always had a turbulent relationship, one that was hidden from the world before the split.

Now, it’s all in the open now as words have been said and war has been declared between the two. Though Durant’s Warriors are still the odds-on favorites to win it all, the rivalry between two of the game’s best players will rage on.
Like Kendrick Lamar said, tables turned, lessons learned.
