1. Lonzo Ball will be drafted higher than Malik Monk

The big prospect out of Kentucky this year is Malik Monk. He’s currently projected by Draft Express to go fifth in the upcoming NBA Draft. These are early projections of course and those mocks are going to fluctuate a lot over the next couple of months before the draft actually occurs. This won’t stop LaVar Ball from talking up his son after an NCAA Tournament loss to Kentucky.

With Kentucky being the most well known factory of one and done players, LaVar Ball will tell the world how Lonzo Ball will be taken over Malik Monk in the draft. Monk may have just defeated Ball in an actual game, but LaVar Ball won’t care about that. He’ll tell everybody how Lonzo Ball is going to the Lakers and Monk will surely be taken behind him. After all, Lonzo Ball is the best player in the draft and that’s LaVar Ball’s son.

Is it right to go after a college student? Not at all, but that won’t stop LaVar Ball from talking himself up by talking his kid up as the superior prospect. He’ll claim Monk won’t last longer than three years in the NBA and the farther Kentucky goes the more ferocious the insults will be. That’s just the type of person LaVar Ball is.

It’s not about the actual skill of his very talented son. It’s about using his son as a way to make himself feel greater than he is. Ball will consider every player his son is drafted over as a personal victory for himself, and he’ll make sure to insult the prospect that defeats his son in the process.
