It was an emotional moment as the Gonzaga Bulldogs cut down the nets as they reached the Final Four for the first time in school history.

Persistence has always been one of the best traits of the Gonzaga Bulldogs. Despite coming close many times in their pursuit of reaching the Final Four, they finally pushed through on Saturday. With a dominant performance over the Xavier Musketeers, the Bulldogs earned the right to cut down the nets.

The dedication that Mark Few has put into the program has led the team to this point. That’s why when Few got to cut down the nets for the first time ever, it was an emotional scene in San Jose. The head coach of the West Regional Champions finally got the moment he deserved.

Seeing a team finally persevere and complete their dream of making the Final Four is what makes college basketball such a special sport. The Bulldogs have become a favorite program for many because of the fact they can hang with the traditional powers.

They’re a power of their own and they are now on their way to Arizona to compete in the Final Four. Getting to the Final Four is one thing, but the Bulldogs want to win it all and they have the talent and system to do so. For now though, it’s all about celebrating this huge accomplishment. Cutting the nets down is one of the best traditions in all of sports and the Bulldogs finally got their turn.
