Zak Showalter ties game with crazy 3, gives Aaron Rodgers belt celebration (Video)
Wisconsin senior guard Zak Showalter hit a monster 3-pointer with 2.5 seconds left to tie Florida, then whipped out the Rodgers championship belt celebration
In the second half of the 2017 NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 matchup between the Wisconsin Badgers and Florida Gators, it looked as if the latter was going to pull away. Flirting with a double-digit lead for much of the 20-minute period, they seemed destined for an Elite Eight berth. Instead, Zak Showalter and the (Cardiac?) Badgers had other plans.
Just as they did against Villanova in their upset of the No. 1 overall seed in March Madness, Wisconsin kept taking chunks off the lead late in the game and then coming up with big stops. With time winding down, though, they were trailing 72-69. That’s when they put the ball in the hands of the senior guard, Showalter.

Somehow Showalter still kept the ball, though, and managed to gather enough before the 3-point line to get off a runner from deep. And with 2.5 seconds left on the clock, it improbably went through the net:
Showalter then made himself a March Madness hero. With Aaron Rodgers in the building, he looked to the stand and hit the Green Bay Packers quarterback’s patented championship belt celebration:

Florida obviously had the chance at one more attempt with the little time remaining, but the Badgers actually stole the inbound heave and had a heaved shot to win of their own. Ultimately, though, it went to overtime in MSG.
